You're probably wondering how I got stuck in a window. It was four and a half years ago and i'm still wondering myself!

Flashback to a chilly saturday morning in January 2013, I had spent the morning out with a friend looking for her cat and I decided to go home as it was getting a lot colder and I wasn't dressed n the most effective clothing. So, I got home around 1:00pm and no-one was in which was odd because I was assured someone would be home all day. At this point in time I had the iconic BlackBerry Curve 8520 and BBM'd my mom to ask her where was as I didn't have a key and was desperate to go to the toilet. She quickly replied and told me to meet her at SubWay for set of keys as that's where she was, SubWay was a two minute walk away from my house, if I had used my logic I could have got there and back in around five minutes.

But I didn't want to waste time walking around and I noticed the smaller kitchen window was open, and it was only ever used by our cat. Being the naive thirteen year old I was I thought I could fit through the small window. I've never been so wrong in my life.

So I set about climbing through the window and pulled our blue wheelie bin up to window. Once I was stood on top of the bin lid I threw my shoes inside the house because I thought it would be easier if I was shoeless. Then I opened the window as far as it would go and I remember calling myself the cleverest person ever. So, I popped my arms and head through and looked for the best place to settle my hands on as I attempted to wriggle through. There was no where. I had settle putting my hands on the windowsill which no bigger than three inches wide, probably not the safest place but it was all there was.

I wiggled my chess and stomach through and as I did I kicked myself away from the bin and I'd realized i'd then kicked the bin far away from me and I couldn't reach it anymore. I thought it would be fine because a few more wiggles and I would be through the window and safely in my kitchen. One half of me was inside, the other half was hanging outside, just dangling.

I bent my body into an upside V shape and looked out the window, although my view was upside down I could still make out my neighbours looking out their windows at me. But I didn't care, I was being initiative.

I wiggled myself forward once more and then I stopped. I couldn't move forwards or backwards. No matter how hard I tried to set myself free I couldn't more. I was stuck. I tried for at least fifteen minutes before I gave up. At this point in time it had been around half an hour since my mom told me to meet her at SubWay. To this day I wish I had listened!

Not long after I gave up I saw my mom walking down the path with her friend and as soon as they saw me they laughed, and I don't blame them. My mom unlocked the door and came into the kitchen and I explained my situation and she went back outside to take a picture. Again I don't blame them.

There was no way I could get out of the window on my own accord, so my mom pulled my legs and I pushed myself off the window sill.

After kicking my legs about I finally felt them land back on the wheelie bin which was pushed back into my reach. And finally I was on solid ground again and I walked into the house like a normal human being should.

I eventually got to go the toilet, i'm still surprised I didn't wet myself during this ordeal! My mom then explained that the que at SubWay was massive and when I had messaged her she had just got there and was at the back of the line. I then realized that it definitely would have been easier to walk up there and collect her keys.

It's safe to say that i'm never going to forget my keys again, and that i'm also never going to fit through a small window!

Thank you for reading!
